Position Overview:
Tremson Corp. is seeking a dependable and experienced CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. This position will involve making local deliveries of mulch, topsoil, compost, and other wood products to our clients as well as transfer product between our Pawling and Brewster yards. You will be responsible for ensuring that deliveries are made safely, efficiently, and on time. This is a local route position, so drivers will be home every night.
Owner-operators are welcome to apply. Loads will primarily utilize walking floor trailers, should owner-operator not have one, a company trailer will be made available. Experience operating heavy equipment (loaders or excavator) for self-loading is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate and drive Class A vehicles, including but not limited to tractor-trailers and roll off trucks.
Deliver mulch, topsoil, compost, and other wood products to customers throughout the local area.
Load and unload trucks as needed, ensuring materials are handled with care.
Inspect vehicles and equipment regularly to ensure they are in proper working condition.
Follow all state and federal driving regulations, as well as company policies.
Maintain accurate logs and records, including delivery and mileage reports.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members to coordinate deliveries.
Provide excellent customer service, ensuring client satisfaction with every delivery.
Assist with other duties as needed, such as helping with site operations or maintaining equipment.
Qualifications:
Valid CDL Class A license.
Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Class A commercial vehicles.
Experience driving in rural and urban areas, with knowledge of local roadways.
Ability to operate trucks and trailers in tight or confined spaces.
Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and moving heavy materials.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Experience operating Loader or excavator for self loading
